Use the dashboard
Ask
Ask a plain question about traffic, revenue or profit in a chat panel and get an answer from your own reports. Ask runs on our own servers.
Ask is a chat panel on the right of the dashboard. Open it with the Ask button, ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux) or the / key, type a question such as "which channel made the most profit last month?" and press Enter. The answer comes from the same reports as the dashboard, with a small chart and an Open report link.
Ask runs on our own servers. No outside AI model ever sees your data.
What Ask can answer
Ask knows 82 report questions and recognises them however you phrase them, with typos and in Indian English:
| Kind | Example question |
|---|---|
| Totals | How many visitors did we get yesterday? What's our ROAS? |
| Trends | Revenue by day this month. What was our busiest day? |
| Rankings | Which pages convert best? Top 5 campaigns by spend. |
| Money | Which channel makes the most profit? Are any campaigns losing money? |
| Comparisons | Revenue this month vs last month. |
| Why | Why did traffic drop last week? (shows which channels moved most) |
| Funnel and retention | Where is the funnel leaking? Which channel's customers stay? |
| Live and crawlers | Who is on the site right now? Is ChatGPT crawling us? |
| Search | Which keywords bring visitors? (needs Search Console) |
| Purchase path | How many visits before people buy? |
- Periods: today, yesterday, this or last week, month, quarter or year, the last N days, a named month such as "September", Q3, "since 1 August", or explicit dates. Ranges are clamped to your plan's history.
- Filters: countries, channels, devices, browsers and operating systems by name, plus your own pages, sources and campaigns, for example "signups from the spring sale campaign in India".
- Follow-ups: "and last month?", "only on mobile" or "what about revenue?" build on the previous answer.
Questions outside these, such as account help or anything about one person, get suggestions instead of a guess.
How a question is answered
- Match. EmbeddingGemma 2, a small open model running beside the database, compares your question with the phrasings of every report question. Dates, comparisons, "top 10" and names are read by fixed rules.
- Confidence. A clear match is answered. A close call is answered with "Did you mean" suggestions. Anything unclear gets suggestions and no answer.
- Query. The report runs through the same code that draws the dashboard, only for the site you are on.
- Answer. A tested sentence template is filled with the result. Ask never writes free text.
- Number check. Every figure in the sentence is compared with the result rows within rounding. If one does not match, you see the numbers without the sentence.
Open Why this answer under any answer to see what Ask understood, the exact query, the period and the filters.
If the model is busy or restarting, Ask matches on words for a moment and says so in Why this answer. It never falls back to an outside service.
Limits
Ask is unlimited on every plan, Free included. There is no monthly count.
- Fair use: at most 20 questions a minute per person, 30 per site and 60 per account. Past that, Ask asks you to wait a minute.
- A repeated question returns the cached answer: for 15 seconds when the range includes today, and for a day when it ends in the past.
Privacy
- Ask runs on our own servers. No outside AI model ever sees your data, your questions or your names for pages and campaigns.
- Every query is limited to the site you are asking about. Answers, suggestions and cached results are never shared between sites or accounts.
- Questions are kept for 30 days for abuse review.
- The conversation in the panel is kept in your browser tab only and is cleared when the tab closes or when you press Clear.
